Image by marklarson via FlickrI’ve just finished reading Dave Ramsey’s book, “Total Money Makeover” (borrowed from our excellent public libraries) that talks about his 7 baby steps in living your life differently. As his tag-line goes,
If you will live like no one else, later you can live like no one else
Deceptively simple statement but is filled with wisdom when you put into it into context with the rest of his book.
The 7 baby steps as espoused by Dave Ramsey are deceptively simple as are as follows:
- Save $1,000 cash as starter Emergency Fund
- Start the Debt Snowball
- Finish the Emergency Fund
- Invest 15% of your Income in Retirement
- Save for College
- Pay off the Home Mortgage
- Build Wealth
Stay tuned as Panzer starts his 7 parter for the next 2 weeks to see how we can share, discuss and explore the ways in which we can implement Dave Ramsey’s “Total Money Makeover” approach to our lives depending on our unique circumstances.
