In case you don’t already know, Senator Barack Obama has won the US Presidential Elections to be the 44th (and 1st African-American) US President.

Those of us who are concerned about the economy will want to know how Obama’s win will translate into the US stock market and whether the global financial crisis and recession could be overcome under an Obama administration.

Only time will tell. The Bush administration has governed during a time that has seen the global financial crisis bring markets to their knees as the sub-prime mess unfolded and resulted in our own Lehman Brothers’ debacle with DBS High Notes 5 and other related toxic derivative products exported from the US of A.

Let’s hope the Obama will bring the US back to focussing on building up its economy again and away from spending trillions of dollars fighting terrorism by military adventurism alone. Perhaps there is hope that the US will rely more on diplomacy and other soft power sources to rebuild itself again on the world stage.

Be well and prosper.
