As I continue to travel along this journey towards financial freedom, I cannot help but think about how we can plan and plan but our plans are subject to laws of nature as well as acts of God.

The recent Swine Flu or Influenza A/H1N1 strain that has affected Mexico City as well as US and numerous other countries poses a real health threat to the world. Singapore is also susceptible to the global economic and health fallout from this potential pandemic. Continue reading

I was having a seven course lunch at the Marina Mandarin Hotel on 18 April 2009 courtesy of my $160 (including cost of Members’ Handbook CD-ROM containing FRS etc) annual subscription fee and noted that it was the largest gathering of Certified Public Accountants (CPA) in Singapore.

The 520 people there comprised of aspiring CPAs who are provisional members, non-practising CPAs who form the bulk of the profession and practicising CPAs who earn their living from audit related services and who can sign off audited financial statements by virtue of their experience and recognised expertise. I just attended a dance performance put up by young people and was amazed by the level of professionalism and dedication they put into their hobby, i.e. modern dance. Their moves can rival any of those you see on MTV or VH1!

That performance inspired today’s post that’s all about finding your passion in life.
